An investigation has been opened following a fire at a storage unit in Aubervilliers and a car chase in north-eastern Paris several hours later. According to initial findings, several people may have tried to recover the contents of the unit shortly before the fire began. Documents, computer equipment and empty packaging were found in the debris. Later that night, two vehicles were seen travelling at high speed before a minor collision injured a driver believed to be unconnected to the case. Three cars were found abandoned in different areas. Investigators are looking for a man in his fifties, a former contractor in security logistics, whose disappearance may be connected to the events. Organised crime is the favoured line of inquiry, although the exact nature of the missing documents has not been made public. No group has claimed responsibility for the fire.
