Series of murders in Paris: five victims since 8 December

Since 8 December 2024, five people have been killed in several Paris arrondissements. Investigators are now trying to determine whether the cases, which have so far been handled separately, are connected.

The crime scenes differ, but several common elements have drawn police attention: extreme violence, the use of a bladed weapon and attacks that appear to have been carried out very quickly. For now, the authorities are refusing to describe the injuries in detail or confirm the existence of a single killer.

Specialist teams have been asked to re-examine the findings and forensic evidence from all five cases. Criminal psychologists are also taking part in the analysis.

Patrols have been increased in several areas. The police prefecture is urging residents to be cautious and asking anyone with useful information to contact investigators.

No arrests have been announced at this stage.
