The Hecata remain outside the Camarilla as a clan. Their presence in Paris runs through the dead, inheritances, archives and commitments that outlive their human signatories. This expertise inspires caution as much as desire.
Since March 2025, Mathilda Giovanni has held a recognised seat on the Council. Her allegiance to the Camarilla is individual: it makes neither the Hecata a clan of the Sect nor Père-Lachaise an absolute sovereignty. It does create a stable political channel where temporary arrangements once prevailed.
For other Kindred, dealing with the Hecata rarely means dealing only with the present. A property, a body, a name in a register or an inherited debt may place a contemporary affair within a much longer history.

Mathilda Giovanni
Mathilda Giovanni brings the memory of the dead, archives and contracts to the Council. Her seat establishes a recognised Hecata voice without granting her clan territorial sovereignty.
Born in Venice in 1668 and Embraced in 1695, Mathilda returned from a long torpor that began in 1794. She joined the Council as a representative of Hecata interests without claiming that the Hecata had joined the Camarilla. Her allegiance to the Sect is individual, and Villon fully recognises her seat.
Her work lies where legal memory meets the memory of the dead: archives, inheritances, contracts and old obligations. Her appointment gives the Hecata of Paris a stable political channel. She must still convince those who regard her as a long-term guest rather than a transformation of the Praxis.
