An eleven-second video filmed from a car near pont de Bercy exceeded one million views before disappearing from several platforms. It shows two figures fighting, one of whom appears to cover several metres at a speed that is difficult to explain. Commenters immediately named the sequence the Bercy vampire. A few hours later, several accounts specialising in visual effects claimed to recognise a promotional edit made with synthetic imagery and reversed slow motion. No studio has claimed the video, however. The driver who supposedly filmed the scene declined to speak to journalists. Several copies were reposted, often degraded or altered, until it became impossible to know which one matched the original file. Police say they received no assault complaint at that location. By Friday evening, the video had already become a meme, recut with horror film music and parody advertisements. The mystery has therefore probably lost its best chance of being taken seriously.
