Changing city does not reset the count.

The Court’s mobility abruptly shifts hunting pressure. A city receiving more Kindred must distribute approaches, protect human routines and prevent the same profiles being targeted twice.

Ask before taking

Passage grants no general hunting right. A visitor speaks to their host or local authority, states their method and accepts current restrictions.

Four rhythms

Toulouse absorbs large flows but retains extensive data. Montpellier renews its populations quickly. Carcassonne poorly tolerates repetition. Béziers watches what the Court’s arrival imposes on the same districts.

Roads and coast

Road stops, festivals, stations, ports and tourism are not anonymous reserves. They intersect with cameras, payments, phones and movement that several services can correlate.

Subsistence is not an automatic right

Hosting the Court requires measuring a concrete burden: additional visitors, length of stay, predatory practices and vulnerable areas. Toulouse can absorb more visitors than Carcassonne. Béziers changes rhythm during the Féria; Montpellier keeps areas almost closed to hunting despite its population. Court members receive subsistence arrangements, not a general right to hunt wherever they wish.

Hospitality is not tribute. The Court compensates the resources, staff, time and risk committed by its host. A service, mediation or diplomatic favour may replace payment, but the debt must remain limited and explicit. Contributing more because a domain has more does not give it a greater say.
